The SwingMasters Big Band Promotion Organization is pleased to announce “An Evening with the Divas,” a concert to benefit the music programs of the elementary and middle schools in Butte County that were destroyed by the Camp Fire in late 2018.
The concert date is Thursday, April 4, 2019, at 7 pm. The venue is the new 500-seat Performing Arts Center located at El Camino Fundamental High School, 4300 El Camino Ave, Sacramento, CA 95821.
All proceeds will be dedicated to the elementary and middle school music programs affected by the Camp Fire, administered by the Butte County Office of Education. Funds will be managed by the SwingMasters Big Band Promotion Organization, a 501.c.3 charitable organization.
Our featured “Divas” are some of Sacramento’s best-known female jazz singers: Beth Duncan, Rubi Lee, Vivian Lee, and Valerie V. Sister Swing, a trio of ladies continuing the tradition of the Andrews Sisters, will also perform. Newcomer Sophia Jackson will be featured with the El Camino High School jazz band. Our other singers will be backed by the SwingMasters, RC Swing Band, and a jazz combo led by Dr. Joe Gilman.
